AIRTABS

When we got our RV from the dealer, they were nice enough to bring it to our campsite where it would be parked. Back then, we didn’t have a vehicle to tow it as we had a Venture van. But the following year, out of the blue, the motor on our van burned and we had to shop around for a new vehicle. We knew that since we had to purchase something we wanted to have one that would be able to pull our Rv for long trips. We found a Suburban that was fit to pull it and since then we enjoy going places with the RV.
However, as soon as we were able to take the RV with us on trips, we looked for ways to be fuel efficient. While navigating the internet one day, my husband stumbled on the website promoting Airtabs [1]. After he read about Airtabs he was so enthusiastic that we purchased some to install on our RV.
What are Airtabs [1]? Well it is a patented shaped vortex generator designed to increase vehicle aerodynamic performance and fuel economy by reducing the aerodynamic pressure drag at two key locations: the tractor-trailer gap and the rear facing surface.
The in
stallation is quite easy though it will take some time to do it properly. You will need a ladder to be able to install the upper part of your RV and if you want to include some Airtabs over the air conditioning (which we did as we had extra Airtabs in our hands). Each Airtabs need to be mounted on 4” centers around the trailing edge of your RV.
Customers have reported improvement in handling the vehicle, better visibility behind when it rains; fewer gear changes and less driver fatigue. It could also save you 2-4% annually in gas. My husband said it was easier to pull the RV once the Airtabs were installed. If we had to change our RV for whatever reason, he would immediately install new Airtabs on it as we have confidence in them.

Interested in improving your driving and save money at the same time? You can purchased the Airtabs directly from http://www.buyairtab.com/ [3] for the price of 220$. You will get 80 Airtabs, spacing templates and instructions [4]. They come in white or black.
We are quite satisfied with our Airtabs and would not go back to having nothing on the trailing edge of our RV. We feel much safer with these on while we are travelling with our family.
What other cost efficient tips do you have? I would be very interested in knowing them.
