Camping with Kids II

November 15, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

Petting zoos, swimming pools, water parks, play structures, and so many more amenities are offered at numerous KOA campgrounds across the nation.  These Kampgrounds of America (KOA) are the ultimate family-friendly campgrounds that also have unbeatable specials, such as camp one night, get the next night for free.  This is an especially common promotion at the local KOA we frequent.  One of the local Moms groups I am involved in actually plans their bi-annual camp outs around this exact deal.  It turns into a weekend-long play date!

With fun teepees to sleep in and lots of other family-friendly options, including an exhilarating zip line, cozy cabins, and some kid-friendly play structures such as climbing walls, parents can look forward to taking their kids camping at such sensational campgrounds.  Knowing how important it is for kids to get outdoors with their parents, KOA’s have even been known to offer free camping just for kids for a given weekend.  For example, this year for Father’s Day weekend, many KOA’s in North America offered free camping for all kids under the age of 17.  This is an incredible opportunity for fathers (and mothers) to spend the weekend as a family, enjoying unforgettable experiences while spending quality time with their kids.

KOA campgrounds truly do offer one-of-a-kind experiences that are hard to top at any other campgrounds.  Essentially they offer the traditional camping experience, complete with campfires, s’mores, and time spent communing with nature, but with added perks that are especially popular with kids.  There are so many different options depending on your location; each KOA even has unique aspects that set them apart from other KOA’s.  Whether you choose to bring your own RV or want to stay in a tree house, deluxe cabin, or yurt, KOA’s offer many options depending on your budget and personal preferences.
