Summer 2012 – A New Life For Our Family
Okay I will admit it – I am a bit quiet this year. But when I tell you why this is the case, I think that you will understand that I have quite a bit on my shoulders since May.
In May my husband had a contract with a company in the area of Whitchurch-Stouffville in Ontario. Being homeschoolers, we packed the RV and drove as a family for a full month in that area. What we didn’t know then – though we knew it was a possibility – it that my husband would get a full time employment offer.
At the end of the contract, we knew that with a couple of weeks he would get an offer. Within two weeks of being back home, we got it and seeing that the contracting world hasn’t been quite the same in the past three years we decided to take a step of faith and follow this opening.
So back in June, we did some painting/repairs in our home and packed like crazy. I had a trip schedule in early July to attend a Leadership Training for a ministry we are considering getting involved with. While I was away the house went up on the market.
On August 1st, we will be back at living in the RV for the time being. We are hoping the house will sell sooner than later. In the meantime, we will relax a bit before my husband starts officially on Tuesday, August 7th.
Needless to say we would love to find a place to settle in a near future. So not only are we will be starting our 2012-2013 homeschool year in the RV but we will be looking for a home as well during this time.
Living in the RV stretches our patience toward each other I find. I am thankful that we have a campsite with a laundry facility which wasn’t the case back in May. At this point in time I don’t know if we will buy a house or decide to rent for a little while. We are thinking that the area around Lake Simcoe is fabulous – we just need to see when and where we will move.
So as you can see a lot has happened in the last couple of months and not much traveling has been done. I am hoping to discover the area here and post some ideas of what to do while camping in the York Region near Toronto. But until we are officially move and have a stable internet connection, my posts might be sporadic.
In the meantime, if you know someone who are looking for a home in Ottawa, ON, Canada – please let them know that ours is for sale!
