Woodall’s Campground Data Now On Board Rand McNally RV GPS Devices!

Just in time for the spring RVing season, Rand McNally has added the Woodall’s campground directory into its top-selling TripMaker® RVND™ GPS devices. Woodall’s, part of the Good Sam family of RV clubs, community and publications, is North America’s leading source of campground information for RVers and campers.
With the addition of thousands of Woodall’s reviewed campgrounds and amenities, the TripMaker® RVND™ devices now feature more than 250,000 RV-focused locations, such as campgrounds and RV service centers, as well as millions of additional general points of interest.

Just bought ours at the Good Sam Rally and love it already. Can’t wait to add the Wodall’s Campgrounds to it. Thanks. Very helpful to RVer’s everywhere.
I have owned a Rand McNally RV GPS for almost a year now. My first one needed to be replaced because of a software crash. It has a lot of features and the addition of Woodall’s data will add to its functionality. It has a non-intutive user interface but once you get used to it, it’s OK.
My main concern with the unit is it’s route choices. Today we were driving from CT to MA on the Mass pike. The GPS wanted us to go to RT 495 to go north to Chelmsford. The way we normally drive that route is to get off the MA pike at Auburn and take RT 395/RT290 to cut the diagonal to get to RT 495. That is 3 miles shorter and is all divided highways. We have found many instances where the unit has selected a poor path. In addition when you choose to take a different path it takes a long time to re-calculate a new path and requests you to turn around to go back to it’s original path for quite a while before committing to a new path.
Another issue we have with the unit is that it consistently identifies the wrong side of the road for the destination. I would guess that it’s wrong almost 50% of the time. We also find that it often does not have the house number in it’s data base.
Although the unit is very functional that is a function that I would love to see added. I would like to plan a path on my computer (preferably with Google Maps) and be able to download the specific path to the unit.
