[1]Does exploring the Colorado River, excellent fishing, and off-the-grid comfort and relaxation sound enticing? Are you travelling around Las Vegas, Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon? You may just want to park your rig or make camp at Arizona’s Willow Beach RV Park and Campground. While this rather remote location has been well known to local fishermen for years, with the RV Park and Campground’s recent renovation (in 2011) it’s about to become a very popular year-round destination to hang out for a few days—for more than just the locals!

Willow Beach RV Park is located on the Arizona side of the Colorado River, just 14 miles south of Hoover Dam, 30 minutes from Boulder City and about an hour from Las Vegas. You’ll see the turn off from Highway 93 and head down another 3.5 miles to the river’s edge. The beautiful Willow Beach compound features not only a camping location but a full-service Marina as well. To provide all the fun you want to have on the river there’s a launch ramp for your own boat or you can rent a variety of boats and watercraft for the day. For example, rent 26’ deck cruisers, 16’ Runabouts, canoes and tandem kayaks. Fuel is also readily available. There’s a newly-renovated marina store, too, filled with groceries, toiletries, snacks, ice, cold drinks, souvenirs and gifts. If you don’t already have an Arizona fishing license, they can fix you up with that as well. You’ll really love the fishing marina’s fishing pier and the River’s ultra clear water where you can see the fish just begging to be caught. There’s even the Willow Beach Grill where you can order hot food. [2]

This “new” RV Park is one of only a few RV facilities located within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It offers 29 full-service RV sites that include water, sewer, electric, fire rings and picnic tables at each site. There are 9 tent-camping sites; each site is large enough for 2 tents with a maximum people allotment of 6 per site. The campsites also have fire rings and picnic tables. To support your stay, there are on-site shower and laundry facilities that are open 24 hours a day and you can also connect to WiFi at the Marina store.

From Willow Beach the Lake Mead NRA is your oyster waiting to be devoured. Tour Hoover Dam, drive or walk across the amazing new Hoover Dam By Pass Bridge, or take a scenic raft trip from the Dam, down the Colorado River, back to Willow Beach Marina. Enjoy hiking, exploration, starry nights, quiet solitude and a great time with family and friends!

[3]Willow Beach RV Park and Campground is located at 25804 North Willow Beach Road, Willow Beach, Arizona, 86445. For reservations in the RV park, campground or for day boat excursions call 928-767-4747.
