Cottonwood Cove RV Park on Lake Mohave just north of Laughlin, NV

February 13, 2012 by · 1 Comment

Headed to Nevada? Consider visiting the RV Park at Cottonwood Cove Resort and Marina on Lake Mohave in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area; it offers great value and recreation options that are unique to the area. With plenty of breathing room and really helpful and friendly management Cottonwood Cove might just be your best find yet!

Cottonwood is a very popular alternative to some of the busier boating locations around Laughlin, NV and Bullhead City, AZ. Folks towing their own boat will have no trouble launching at the marina, where the water is usually a lot calmer than it is further south. If you don’t have your own boat you can rent ski boats, fishing boats, deck cruisers, patio pontoons and PWCs from Forever Resorts, the concessioner, and enjoy phenomenal water adventures anyway. Friends of friends told us they stayed at Cottonwood Cove Motel last summer, rented a boat and traveled north on Lake Mohave—and ultimately up the Colorado River, past Willow Beach, toward Hoover Dam. The intended destination was to see the new Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge from the water. They said it was awesome floating through the tall volcanic walls of the Black Canyon before actually reaching the Bridge and marveling at its impressive height and construction.

If you’re not into boating or fishing, there is plenty to do at the Marina as well. Relax and read at the Marina’s roped-off swimming beach or play sand volleyball, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Stock up on everything you might need in the way of groceries, sundries, snacks and beverages at the on-site Convenience Store plus enjoy the Marina’s café, lounge and gift store and socialize with people from all over the country and the world.

The RV Park features 75 sites, each with lighted identification posts and 30/50amp service. You are welcome to stay for a week or a month depending on your itinerary and pets are invited as long as they are kept on a leash at all times. There are, of course, public restrooms and a coin-operated Laundromat on site as well. And, surprisingly, you can even enjoy cable TV if you feel like hibernating.

To reach Cottonwood Cove Marina RV Park, from US-95 at Searchlight NV, take W. Cottonwood Cove Road for 14 miles to the water’s edge. This is a popular spot so it’s advised to make reservations in advance. ‪10000 Cottonwood Cove Road, Searchlight, NV 89046 (702) 297-1464, (800) 255-5561.

  1. Sounds real nice. We will consider this as a preferred campground next time we are in the area. In July of 2011 we stayed (never again) at the absolute WORST: the KOA at Ceasar Ceasars Las Vegas. Low voltage, water hook-up in disrepair, and hot humid shower room, all for $67. Per day ! I have a formal complaint file with KOA.
