In Search of the Once in a Life Time Vacation for 2011

As I sit here reflecting on this past year, and planning for the next, I can’t help but wonder what marvelous memories my family will talk about a few decades from now. I truly want 2011 to be the best year yet for my girls and I. As I look back at our vacations both short and long there are a few that stand out. I remember the trip to Disneyland in California. At the time we all thought it was a once in a life time vacation and could never be beat. A few years later we went whitewater rafting and did some cave exploring. Again it seemed like a vacation that could not be beat. We camped in the beautiful mountains around Lake Tahoe. When it was time to leave that area we wanted to buy a home there and stay. It was beautiful country. I remember the museums on the Washington D.C. Mall. I remember our trip to New York; the friendly people of Manhattan, the architecture, and the Statue of Liberty. Learning to Love Any Weather

Most RVers really enjoy the warmer weather and look forward to spring as the coming of the next camping season. Winter, however, tends to evoke another emotion entirely. If you dread the coming of winter like a harbinger of doom, I challenge you to make peace with weather you do not enjoy.  There is beauty in all of nature; some is just a bit harder to see and appreciate. But if you make the effort, you need never be disappointed due to a bad weather day. Here are some thoughts on the subject: A rainy day camping is better than a sunny day at work! You may see a rainy day while you are camping as a disappointment. However, that rain can make you enjoy curling up on a couch with a good book.  Or perhaps you will choose to spend the day playing games inside the camper and use it as a family bonding experience.
