Gig Harbor RV Resort

As we looked for a place to stay in the Seattle area, we were attracted to an RV park near a “quaint fishing village,” so we chose to stay at the Gig Harbor RV Resort . What we discovered was a quiet park nestled in the trees a short walk from Gig Harbor. We always enjoy staying at parks where you can walk to restaurants and shopping. As full-timers, we do enjoy our satellite tv, but we took some time off from the satellite while at this park. They did have cable for the few times we were not exploring the area. While the lower portion of the park was on a fairly steep hill, the sites were level and we had no problem pulling into our site. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed the abundance of blackberries that were just ripening on the bushes throughout the park. The park had a playground, several pet areas, a dump site, propane, laundry and sitting room with some exercise equipment, and some RV supplies in the office.
The historic village of Gig Harbor had many restaurants, from casual to fine dining, and many shops to visit; all within walking distance from the RV Resort.
There were also many activities going on, such as the Harbor Hounds dog walk and the grand opening of the Harbor History Museum . I do not think I’ve ever seen anyplace else with a supply of life jackets right on the dock for anyone who needs to use one. Also, it was only a short drive to even more restaurants as well as shopping malls and grocery stores.
The main attraction of Gig Harbor, though is that it provides an excellent place to explore the Kitsap Peninsula . For us, the highlight was driving the 20 miles to Bremerton and riding the ferry to Seattle (Bremerton-Seattle Ferry ). The one-hour ride that moors a short walk from Pike’s Public Market, was an excellent trip that seemed to offer something for all ages. We enjoyed watching a pair of grandparents entertaining their grandson on the ride to Seattle—it seemed like the corn dog from the cafeteria on the ferry was the main attraction for a big part of the trip; of course, seeing the seals sunning on the buoys and watching the other boats, ships, and activity along the shore was also a treat.
For more information about the Gig Harbor RV Resort, you can visit the information page on the Woodall’s site (Gig Harbor RV Resort ); and we would highly recommend this location for anyone visiting the Seattle area. While there, everyone should spend at least one meal dining right on the harbor with a view of Mt. Rainier.
