Facebook on the Road

[1]Social internet sites like Facebook are an awesome way to stay connected with friends and family while you are on a road trip in your RV.
Facebook allows you to upload photos, videos and links with just a touch of the button! Your computer is a great tool for keeping in touch with loved ones while on the road trip in your RV. Some of my friends that were not born in the “computer generation” were terribly intimidated by the idea of using these modern conveniences. But once they got started on facebook they felt as savvy as a Jr. High Schooler.
It is all very simple. First you type www.facebook.com [2] into your browser. The page that comes up has a login bar at the top and a sign up box below it. This is where you start.
Simply enter your name as you wish it to appear on your facebook page, your email address, your password, male or female and your birthday. Then click sign up. Don’t get worried about the whole world being able to see your information. Facebook has privacy settings that you can set to protect yourself. Only the your facebook friends will be able to see your personal information and the pictures of your RV road trip.
Now that you are registered on Facebook it is time to take a look at your settings. On the top of the page you will see “Account” -click on it and a tool bar drops. Here you can change your personal information and set your privacy settings. Take the time to look through the links and set things the way you want. If you don’t want the whole world able to see your information or your road trip post then you must make the settings “friends only” to prevent it.
You will find both your name and user name in the settings under “accounts.” Your name and user name are not necessarily the same. Your name will appear on your facebook page.Your user name will become your vanity url, if it is available. (example- www.facebook.com/woodalls [3])
One of the advantages of using Facebook to keep in touch with friends and familywhile you are on the road in your RV is that you can also become a fan of organizations and pages that give you useful information. I recommend you become a fan of www.facebook.com/woodalls [3] first off! This is a great way to keep in touch with other RVers and keep current on the newest information available from www.woodalls.com [4].
Now that you are all signed up your friends and family can become your Facebook friends! Then no matter how far away from home you travel in your RV, you can share pictures, links and videos of your road trip, and they can share with you.
